Red wine | Rioja, Spain
The Beronia Crianza is a testament to the rich winemaking heritage of the Rioja region in Spain. Crafted by Bodegas Beronia, a winery deeply rooted in the Ollauri terroir since 1973, this wine embodies the essence of Rioja's Tempranillo grape. The "Crianza" designation signifies a minimum of one year of aging in oak barrels, followed by several months of bottle aging, allowing the wine to develop complexity and finesse.
This 2021 vintage presents a beautiful ruby-red color. On the nose, it offers an inviting bouquet of ripe red fruits like cherries and plums, gracefully intertwined with notes of vanilla, sweet spice, and subtle hints of oak derived from its time in French and American oak barrels. The palate is well-balanced, showcasing a harmonious blend of fruit, acidity, and tannins. The wine's smooth texture and lingering finish make it a delightful experience from start to finish.
Beronia Crianza is the perfect companion for a wide range of culinary delights. Its versatility makes it an excellent choice for pairing with tapas, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and even mature cheeses. Consider serving it with classic Spanish dishes like patatas bravas, chorizo with piquillo peppers, or a hearty paella. Its structure also makes it an ideal match for lamb chops, grilled steak, or mushroom risotto.

Rioja! Nice red fruit and vanilla. Smooth tannins, easy to drink. Great with grilled lamb! Not my usual crisp white, but I enjoyed it! Will try again.
