Red wine | Bordeaux, France
This Vin de Tradition Bordeaux is a classic representation of the Bordeaux region, known for its elegant red wines. Typically, Bordeaux wines are crafted from a blend of grapes, with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon often playing leading roles, complemented by Cabernet Franc and sometimes Petit Verdot or Malbec. This composition creates a complex and harmonious wine. Bordeaux, situated in the southwest of France, benefits from a maritime climate that is moderated by the nearby Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde estuary. This climate allows for the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, leading to wines with balanced acidity and tannins. Expect aromas of ripe red and black fruits, such as cherries, plums, and blackberries, mingled with earthy notes of cedar and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is typically dry with a medium body, moderate tannins, and a lingering finish. Vin de Tradition Bordeaux pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes. Its structure and flavors make it an excellent companion to roasted meats like lamb or beef, as well as hearty stews and casseroles. The wine's earthy undertones also complement mushroom-based dishes and aged cheeses. Its a wine that is perfect to drink on its own or with a meal. Overall, this wine is a perfect choice for those who are looking for a classic Bordeaux wine.
Classic Bordeaux, as expected. A bit too much on the black fruit side for my liking, needs more brightness. Acceptable, but not exciting.
