Red wine | Puglia, Italy
Crocevia is a profound expression of the Manduria region, crafted by Cantine Agricola Erario from 70-year-old bush-trained vines (alberello). This exceptional Primitivo di Manduria Riserva undergoes a patient 'triple ageing' process spanning 48 months—moving from steel to barriques and finally resting in glass—to achieve its signature ultimate smoothness. With a bold 18% alcohol content, this wine is a powerhouse of structure and complexity. On the nose, it offers an intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, blackberries, plums, and delicate notes of tobacco and vanilla. On the palate, it is remarkably velvety, with rounded, polished tannins that provide a sophisticated mouthfeel. Its structure and persistence make it a perfect companion for traditional Puglian meat dishes such as roasted lamb, 'marretti', or horse meat stew in tomato sauce. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses. Due to its intensity and concentration, we recommend allowing the wine to breathe for at least 20 minutes before serving. A rare and collectible piece of Puglian craftsmanship, this wine is built for longevity, with an aging potential of over 30 years.
