Description

Levi Serafino's 'Grappa delle Donne Selvatiche' is not just a spirit; it's an experience, a story etched in every sip. Hailing from the rolling hills of Piedmont, Italy, this grappa is a testament to tradition and craftsmanship. The spirit is crafted using a traditional, direct fire pot still method, using pomace from Nebbiolo (Barbaresco DOCG), Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, and Barbera d'Alba DOC grapes. Levi Serafino are known as one of the finest producers of Grappa. The Levi distillery is situated in Neive. The distillery has a long history going back to 1945 and is now run by Romano Levi's nieces. The hand-written labels of Levi Grappa are legendary and have been designed by Romano Levi himself. Each bottle bears a unique label, making it a collector's item as much as a spirit to savor. The name and the drawing of 'Donne Selvatiche', which translates to 'Wild Women', are inspired by Romano's love of local nature. The aroma is complex, with notes of ripe fruit, spice, and a hint of herbs. On the palate, it's smooth and warming, with a long, satisfying finish. The alcohol is well integrated, adding to the overall harmony of the grappa. This grappa is best enjoyed neat, in a tulip-shaped glass to concentrate the aromas. It's a perfect digestif after a rich meal. The bold flavors of the Grappa pair exceptionally well with strong cheeses, dark chocolate, or even a robust cigar. It's also excellent alongside traditional Piedmontese dishes like tajarin with truffle or braised beef in Barolo. Its dry yet fruity profile offers a delightful contrast to the richness of these dishes, cutting through the fats and enhancing the savory elements.
