White wine | Veneto, Italy
Imagine yourself transported to the sun-drenched hills of Veneto, Italy, where the air is filled with the scent of wildflowers and the gentle rustle of leaves. This is where La Collina dei Ciliegi, "The Hill of Cherry Trees," crafts their exquisite Ca' del Moro Garganega Veronese, a wine that captures the very essence of this idyllic landscape. The winery is located in the heart of Valpolicella, near Verona. The name Collina dei Ciliegi is derived from the cherry trees scattered in the vineyards. The territory is about 46 hectares, of which 34.5 are vineyards, located at an altitude between 350 and 600 meters above sea level. This particular vineyard is Garganega, is a very ancient grape varietal, probably originated in Veneto. The Ca' del Moro Garganega Veronese is crafted using the traditional method for white wine production, which preserves the unique aroma and character of the grape. The grapes are gently pressed, and the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine is then aged on its lees for several months to enhance its complexity and texture.
As you pour a glass, the wine shimmers with a pale straw color, hinting at the crispness and elegance to come. The nose is immediately captivating, with delicate aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, and a subtle hint of almond. On the palate, the wine is dry and refreshing, with a vibrant acidity that dances across your tongue. The flavors of fruit and almond are perfectly balanced, leading to a long and satisfying finish. With its refreshing acidity and elegant flavour profile, this Garganega is the perfect partner for a wide variety of dishes. Pair it with fresh seafood, grilled vegetables, light pasta dishes, or a simple Caprese salad. It also makes an excellent aperitif, especially on a warm summer evening. This wine is best enjoyed chilled, at a temperature of around 10°C, and does not require any decanting.
This wine is not just a drink; it's an invitation to experience the beauty and charm of the Veneto region. Let it transport you to sun-kissed hills, where the vineyards are carefully tended and the wines are crafted with passion. Whether you're enjoying a casual meal with friends or celebrating a special occasion, the Ca' del Moro Garganega Veronese will add a touch of Italian elegance to your table.
