Description

From the sun-drenched hills of Abruzzo, La Valentina's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a testament to the region's winemaking prowess. This wine encapsulates the heart and soul of the Montepulciano grape, offering a rich and complex tasting experience that is both approachable and memorable. La Valentina winery is located in the hills of Villamagna at 300 metres above sea level, 15 km from the Adriatic coast and 20 km from the Majella mountain, it extends over 45 hectares of vineyards, almost all owned, which are cultivated according to the principles of integrated agriculture. The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is the most representative wine, both for its sales volume and for the numerous awards received over the years. It is obtained from a rigorous selection of grapes from the vineyards located in the municipalities of Villamagna and Ripa Teatina. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in oak barrels, this Montepulciano exhibits a beautiful ruby-red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it reveals enticing aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries, and plums, interwoven with subtle hints of spice and earth. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, with well-integrated tannins and a refreshing acidity that provides balance and structure. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a pleasant impression of dark fruit and savory notes. The wine's approachable character makes it an excellent choice for everyday enjoyment, while its complexity allows it to pair well with a variety of dishes. Consider serving it with hearty pasta dishes, grilled meats, or aged cheeses. For a true taste of Abruzzo, pair it with arrosticini, the region's famous grilled lamb skewers. Serve this wine at around 18°C to best appreciate its full range of flavors. Decanting for 15 minutes can further enhance its aromas and flavors. Raise a glass and savor the authentic taste of Abruzzo.
