Description

Allow me to introduce you to a wine that embodies the rich history and passion of the Veneto region: the Torre dei Chiusi Arces. This isn't just a bottle of wine; it's an experience, a journey into the heart of Valpolicella.

Torre dei Chiusi is located in the heart of Valpolicella, the story of the family began in 1990 when Flavio Prandi purchased a small abandoned family-run vineyard. With unwavering dedication, he set out to revive the land and produce wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. The Arces is a testament to his vision.

Crafted primarily from Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, the Arces is a Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore, which means it undergoes a special 'ripasso' process. After the fermentation of Amarone, this wine is re-passed over the Amarone grape skins, infusing it with additional richness, depth, and complexity. This gives the Arces a distinctive character that sets it apart from typical Valpolicella wines.

On the nose, expect an intense bouquet of ripe cherries, plums, and blackberries, interwoven with subtle notes of spice, vanilla, and a hint of balsamic. The palate is equally captivating, with a full-bodied structure, velvety tannins, and a long, satisfying finish. The Ripasso method adds layers of complexity, offering a more concentrated and refined experience. Its dry character makes it an exceptionally versatile wine.

This is a wine that demands to be savored. Allow it to breathe for at least 30 minutes before pouring to unlock its full potential. Ideally served at around 18°C, it’s a fantastic accompaniment to a wide range of dishes.

Imagine pairing it with hearty pasta dishes featuring rich tomato sauces, grilled meats like steak or lamb, or aged cheeses such as Parmigiano-Reggiano or Pecorino. It’s also a wonderful match for game dishes, such as venison or wild boar, where its robust flavors can stand up to the intensity of the meat. For a simpler, yet equally delightful pairing, try it with a selection of cured meats and artisanal bread.

The Torre dei Chiusi Arces is more than just a wine; it's an invitation to experience the tradition, passion, and artistry of Italian winemaking. Add this gem to your collection. It is a decision you will not regret.
