Description

This 2015 Barolo from Terre da Vino is a fantastic expression of the legendary Nebbiolo grape, hailing from the heart of the Langhe region in Piedmont. Known as the 'King of Wines,' Barolo is prized for its complexity, high acidity, and powerful tannins, and this 2015 vintage offers an excellent opportunity to experience that majesty without needing to break the bank. On the nose, you will be greeted with the classic, sophisticated bouquet characteristic of great Nebbiolo: elegant notes of violets, dried rose petals, and ripe red cherries, underscored by hints of tobacco and forest floor. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, and robust. It possesses a structured, sinewy frame that makes it a perfect companion for rich, hearty meals. The tannins are prominent but well-integrated, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish that leaves a lasting impression. Because of its structural intensity, this wine is best served around 18–20°C and greatly benefits from being opened or decanted for at least an hour before serving; this allows the wine to 'breathe' and fully express its aromatic depth. Given its bold, savory nature, this Barolo is a natural match for complex, rich dishes. Pair it with slow-cooked braised beef, roast game, or dishes featuring earthy truffles—like a classic truffle risotto—to truly elevate the experience. It also stands up exceptionally well to aged, hard cheeses such as Parmigiano-Reggiano or Castelmagno. This is a wine that rewards patience, balancing intensity with a refined, traditional character that reflects the unique terroir of Northern Italy.
